formally trained Beryl Cooks work has found acclaim from all quarters of
the art world, critics, collectors, dealers and admirers all respect the
quality of her paintings. Eight books have been published on Beryl Cook,
she has been mantled "Britain's most popular living artist". Her
sometimes humorous, always enjoyable paintings capture moments that the
artist has witnessed or in some cases just conjured up from her active
and fascinating imagination. Her subjects stem from every day life and
every day people, they are collections of journeys, events, occurrences
or just fond memories. Her brilliance is in the way she presents them to
us in the reminiscent style of a Blackpool postcard.
