Paula Rego Portuguese (1935 - Present)
Born in 1935 in Portugal Paula Rego's body of work is exceptionally powerful and incredibly well received and enjoyed by many. Strong feminine characters spring to mind with powerfully drawn limbs and dramatic scenarios, often reflecting political climate or policy which the artist feels strongly about. Two of the many successful series to have been published by Rego in her printed works are the brilliant Jane Eyre and Alice in Wonderland, both of which are shown in the leading National Public and private collections.
