Alan Cotton moved to the West Country and to Devon’s glorious Otter valley to take his masters degree at the University of Exeter. After a rather austere upbringing in the midlands, Alan has steadily turned his pictures into sensual feasts.

Alan Cotton was elected the first President of the newly formed South West Academy of fine and applied arts, which was launched on the 1st Jan 2000.

There have been over forty exhibitions of his works in this country and abroad and in May 1986 for the 2nd time a large exhibition of his paintings was staged at the Canada Art Gallery in Victoria BC.
