Sir Terry Frost RA

Born in Leamington Spa in 1915, he joined the Territorial Army and was called up to fight in the Second World war. During a fierce battle in Crete Frosts regiment acted as rear guard for fleeing Allied troops when his unit was over come by the enemy and taken prisoner. Frost saw out the remainder of the war in the Prisoner of War camp Stalag 383 in Bavaria. Frost started to bide his time by painting while he was held captive, it was during this time of incarceration that Frost made up his mind that painting was what he wanted to do when the war was over. Frost returned home and Later Married. He was advised by his art teacher to travel to St Ives where he would eventually meet Ben Nicholson and Barbara Hepworth. He went on to study at Camberwell under the tuition of Victor Pasmore, and developed his own recognizable style, which is in extreme demand in today's art world.  Sir Terry Frost RA sadly died in September 2003.
